On a recent episode of the Ellen Degeneres show, actress Kristen Bell completely lost it on camera when her sweetheart delivered a surprise that was a little on the wild side. Not only does this video clip show the meltdown in full swing — but Kristen loses it again just watching it during the taping of the Ellen show.

A Bird Too Far?

Is it taking the worldwide obsession with Angry Birds too far when TMobile sets up a real life series of Angry Birds obstacles, complete with pigs and birds, right in a public square of Barcelona, Spain?  When I read about this today, I was thinking to myself how many hours I’ve logged playing Angry Birds on my iPhone over the past couple of years.  The idea of playing Angry Birds in real life is very appealing, yet very odd.  I mean, seriously, can you think of any other game that has taken over the world this way and inspired the kind of zeal people have for it?  I’m about to share a YouTube video showing these Spaniards taking the game to what some call the extreme.

Crazy New Taylor Swift Video

Taylor Swift as a regular, office girl?  Maybe that’s hard for us to imagine, but it’s exactly the image the country starlet sought to convey in her new video to the song “Ours,” where Swift plays the role of an office worker who is not having the most wonderful day in her cubicle on floor 13 of an urban high rise building.  Amid the bleak surroundings of her work place, where every printer she tries has a handwritten sign that it’s out of something, and one annoying cubicle dweller nearby enjoys bombarding her with paper airplanes, some have said the singer looks “frumpy.”  I beg to differ, but the video is certainly zany and off the wall.

Giant Lego Man Washes Up on Florida Beach

Last week, a life sized Lego man washed ashore on a Florida beach, causing a flurry of inquisitiveness among nearby residents — and a case for local authorities to crack.  This Lego man is going to stay in police custody for three months while they attempt to sort out the details and figure what is to be done with it. The bright yellow,100-pound sculpture is 8-foot-tall, and despite the fact that it didn’t do anything wrong besides washing up on a Florida beach, Sarasota County Sheriff Tom Knight reports that his office will hold the fiberglass sculpture for a full 90 days; it is the office’s standard policy when it comes to lost and found property in the county.

Strange Facts About Planets

Some of the planets in our solar system have got some strange little thingies about them that most of us would call “little known facts.”  Weird facts about the planets, including massive fluctuations in temperatures, their orbital tracks, and their sizes have fascinated people for hundreds of years since the first truly telling images of the planets, and their resulting solar system maps, first captured the imagination of people all over the Earth.  What is it about planets that people find so amazing, despite the fact that it is unlikely any of us will ever get to visit these other nearby worlds?  Why is it that people stay up into the wee hours of the morning, peering through telescopes that cost millions or even billions of dollars, just to learn more about enormous hunks of space rock, gases, and ice?  Could it be that Earthlings are just perpetually bored?

Christmas Injuries You Don’t Hear About Every Day

As the holiday season approaches, the decorations are brought out from the attic, Christmas presents are delicately wrapped and the oven begins churning out delicious goodies. It seems like nothing can bring us down during this magical time of the year, but, sure enough, some holiday enthusiasts don’t walk away from the season unscathed. Every year there are a handful of holiday related injuries that we never seem to hear about on the news but they do make me wonder how in the world they happened. Whether you asked for a sweater or a new Dish Network package, you are not safe from the perils of Christmas.

• There are over 200 people each year admitted to the hospital after not removing all of the pins from new shirts. Even if your grandma had the best intentions giving you’re a new button down, your fate is sealed at the emergency room entrance.

• In 2009 , two people died eating Christmas decorations that they thought were holiday chocolates. You may have thought I was going to say from eating fruit cake, but those chocolate imposter ornaments are even more dangerous.

• Last year, there were five people that sustained 3rd degree burns after attempting to flame torch their Christmas pudding. I guess everyone should just stick to pie for their holiday dessert needs next year.

• Since 1997, there have been 26 fatalities from people watering Christmas trees with the Christmas lights still turned on. Hopefully the trees weren’t fake.

All of these stories remind us to be extra careful during the holiday festivities, but more than anything, stay away from ladders!

Do you think ugly people are discriminated against in the workplace? A professor claims that ugly people are definitely discriminated against professionally, and is encouraging them to come forward and fight for their rights. He claims that there is very little difference between protecting the rights of the disabled and protecting the right of the ugly.
